In Harness: Yonkers Will Not Shut Down On September 12, Meet Extended To December 22
By STEVE PHILLIPS

Mineola NY: The seeming impasse between MGM Resorts Yonkers and the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New York has been successfully resolved. As a result, Yonkers will continue to race beyond the previously announced Setpember 12th closing date. Indeed, Yonkers will return to their 'normal' schedule. Entries have already been accepted for the Monday, September 14th racing night. The Westchester oval will return to 5-days-a-week racing, with Wednesdays & Sundays going dark.

The SOA of NY has covered purses for several weeks, which ultimately led to MGM Resorts and the SOA reaching the agreement.

Purses will continue at the current somewhat reduced level while the SOA evaluates the direction in which the purse account goes.
